StoryRoom is a private notebook for family and life stories. Record your parents telling theirs — or tell your own — and StoryRoom turns what is said into text you can edit, shape into stories, and keep.
What it does
- Talk or type. Record straight from your phone or computer, or type — both sit side by side in the same story.
- Transcribed for you. Every recording becomes text you can correct, and the original recording is kept alongside it, byte for byte.
- Shape it into stories. Reorder the pieces, read the whole story in one view, and edit anywhere — every change saves itself.
- Private, and yours. Your stories are visible only to your account. Nothing is published, and nobody at StoryRoom reads them.
- Take it with you. Download a story as PDF or Word, or download everything — every story and every recording — whenever you like.
- Nothing lost by accident. Deleted stories and pieces wait in a Deleted section until you restore them or delete them for good.
What it costs
Nothing, during early access. Recording and typing are free, and recordings are transcribed free, up to 60 minutes a day per account. Your recordings themselves are never limited.
If early access ends, or anything that is free today starts to cost, we will tell you at least 90 days before, and you will be able to download everything first. See the terms.
Getting started
StoryRoom is open. Sign in with Google and start recording — you must be 18 or older.
